Saving Money on Medical Waste

As a part of our saving you money initiative HWM takes many steps to ensure you only pay the lowest prices. One of the biggest steps we take is owning the facilities we sanitize and dispose of the waste ourselves. A lot of medical waste disposal companies don’t own their own disposal plant and have to take your waste to a separate facility where they have to pay for your disposal.

The Birth of Jackson

Jackson was founded in in the early 1800’s by two explorers and a Native American guide named Pewytum. Believe it or not the very first meetings of the Republican party were here in Jackson in 1854. Detroit became the auto manufacturing hub starting in 1910 but before that Jackson was actually the leading hub in Michigan. They manufactured care parts and assembled cars in their many factories for companies such as Buick, Imperial, the CarterCar and more.

The first state prison in Michigan was opened in Jackson after 60 acres of land were donated to the city for that purpose. Once auto manufacturing jobs started to decline in the 1900s Jackson had to find another source of revenue for it’s people. Thankfully industries such as healthcare, natural gas and electrical services and other types of equipment manufacturing came along which are the largest employers in the city.
